Information You Submit
Search-form entries such as a name, phone number, or address are sent to the outside provider that supplies results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services create ordinary logs, including IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We use this data in aggregate for site operation and to understand which reference pages are used. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
Limited technical data helps operate the directory, diagnose problems, measure traffic, and improve reference pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links lead to NYC property and court portals, New York election tools, NYPL collections, archives, and outside search services. Each destination controls information submitted there under its own policy. That includes sponsored result tools provided by another company.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process technical logs for us. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when required by valid legal process, and otherwise only as needed to operate the service.
Safeguards
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or personal directory profiles maintained by this site.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Information Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data kept by a website. New York's SHIELD Act, General Business Law ยงยง899-aa and 899-bb, concerns data-security safeguards and breach notices; the research for this reference did not identify a universal New York deletion right for every public-record or commercial listing. Because we keep very little, most requests involve checking the contact mailbox and applicable logs. Use the Contact page. Public records held by New York state, county, or city custodians remain outside our control, and record corrections or redaction requests must go to the original office.
Changes to This Policy
Any revision will appear here. Continuing to use the site after a posted change signifies acceptance of the updated policy.
